Nexus

The Nexus Substation is a heat/hot water Interface unit that allows metered service to be provided to multi - dwelling developments such as district heating schemes or blocks of flats or apartments.

With the growing popularity of Network or Community Heating Systems, MHS Boilers have developed a range of innovative Heat Interface Units which provide the link between a community heating system and a dwelling or small business unit. Whether the requirement is for a direct type unit or an indirect unit, for build-into-the-wall or for wall hanging, with or without heat or water metering or with connections top/bottom or all on one plane – MHS Boilers have the comprehensive solution with the Nexus range for all your heat interface needs. Chilled water metering is also possible for those prestigious developments where cooling from a central source is also provided. MHS Boilers can also provide the Central Boiler Plant with Gas Condensing Boilers available up to 1.8MW.

Overview of model types

The Nexus range is split into build-into-the wall and wall hanging types and then subdivided further. The brief explanations below will hopefully help with unit selection:

• "Nexus Diatech Units" are build-into-the wall versions and are useful where the dwellings do not have a dedicated cupboard or enclosure for the siting of the heat interface unit.
• "Nexus Futura Units" are fully cased wall mounted types with lockable doors/access panels.
• "LF" versions are available in both “Diatech” and “Futura” types and these variants are specifically designed to operate with lower central system flow and return temperatures which is ideal for realizing better efficiency from the use of Condensing Boilers as the community heat source.
• "Bitherm" types indicate that the unit is an indirect heating version and includes a heat exchanger for complete hydraulic separation of the dwelling’s central heating circuit from the community system.
• Conter Zone Distribution Units are build-into-the-wall type units which can distribute and meter the supply of any or all of the following services: central generated heating, centrally generated hot water, cold water or chilled water.
  

Special Units

Whereas the Nexus range is very comprehensive and most requirements can be satisfied from the extensive range of standard models; MHS Boilers have the capability to produce some special units to meet specific requirements such as larger capacities or the inclusion of underfloor heating coil manifolds etc. For reasons of economy and prompt availability, wherever possible we suggest that standard models should be selected, but in the situations where a standard unit does not meet requirements we will be pleased to try to meet special requirements.

Meters

• Heat Meter: CE marked Turbine type 1.5m3/h flow, class C, with liquid crystal display and long life battery. Upon request, equipped with data transmission cable for centralised consumption data reading (M-Bus).
• Water meters: CE marked turbine volume flow meter 1.5m3/h flow.
